Get a laugh from a fact you learned 20 seconds earlier.
The five moves
Same rhythm, every week.
1 — Study
Crowd-work specialists. Note what they do with the second answer, not the first.
Watch on purpose. Specific comedians, specific reason.
2 — Deconstruct
Mark where the comic listens versus where they steer.
Isolate one mechanism. Name it before you use it.
3 — Write
Ten openers that invite a real answer, not a job title.
10–25 premises minimum. Quantity buys quality.
4 — Perform
Do three minutes of unscripted crowd work.
Somewhere live. The classroom is useful; the audience is the laboratory.
5 — Review
Did you build on what they gave you, or use them as a springboard for prepared lines?
Watch the tape. Log what the room did, not what you felt.
