Act 4 — Discover your comedy DNA · Week 31 of 52

Work, money & status

What's funny about hierarchy, ambition and organisational nonsense?

Take an authority figure's status away in one sentence.

The five moves

Same rhythm, every week.

  1. 1Study

    Status-play comics and corporate satirists.

Watch on purpose. Specific comedians, specific reason.

  2. 2Deconstruct

Mark who gains and loses status in 20 bits.

Isolate one mechanism. Name it before you use it.

  3. 3Write

25 premises from jobs, money, bosses, meetings and titles.

10–25 premises minimum. Quantity buys quality.

  4. 4Perform

Run the best five to a working-age room.

Somewhere live. The classroom is useful; the audience is the laboratory.

  5. 5Review

Which status reversal got the biggest release?

Watch the tape. Log what the room did, not what you felt.

The Comedy Genome

Tag what made you laugh.

Tag every joke you studied this week. After a few months the pattern stops being an opinion and becomes your comedy DNA.

Your twin asks

Eleven questions, every week.
