Act 4 — Discover your comedy DNA · Week 30 of 52

Relationships

Where is the reliable insanity in family, dating and children?

Make a room recognise their own marriage inside your story.

The five moves

Same rhythm, every week.

  1. 1Study

    Relationship comics across generations.

Watch on purpose. Specific comedians, specific reason.

  2. 2Deconstruct

20 bits: what universal dynamic is under each specific story?

Isolate one mechanism. Name it before you use it.

  3. 3Write

25 premises about the people you cannot escape.

10–25 premises minimum. Quantity buys quality.

  4. 4Perform

Run five. Watch for the couples elbowing each other.

Somewhere live. The classroom is useful; the audience is the laboratory.

  5. 5Review

Did you punch at them or include yourself?

Watch the tape. Log what the room did, not what you felt.

The Comedy Genome

Tag what made you laugh.

Tag every joke you studied this week. After a few months the pattern stops being an opinion and becomes your comedy DNA.

Your twin asks

Eleven questions, every week.
