Unit 4 · Lesson 10 · 8 min
Timing: The Silence Is Doing The Work
Timing isn't speed. It's controlling how long the audience is allowed to be wrong.
Members only.
Beginners think timing means being fast. Timing is actually the management of one variable: how long the audience holds the wrong picture before you replace it. Too short and they never built the picture. Too long and they built the punchline themselves, which is the polite way of saying they beat you to it.
