Ten good jokes in the wrong order is a mediocre set. Order is a skill.
A set is not a playlist, it's a build. The opener buys you trust, the middle takes the risks that trust paid for, and the closer sends them out with the biggest thing you own plus, ideally, a callback riding on top of it.
