Callbacks across a whole set
The cheapest big laugh in comedy, and the one that makes twenty minutes feel like a show.
A callback rewards the audience for having been there. It says: we have a history now, you and I, and it's eleven minutes long. That's why callbacks get laughs disproportionate to how clever they are — they're not jokes, they're intimacy.
